Shortlisted authors meet before winner is announced

Hatchards hosts book signing for all six novelists

The six shortlisted authors for this year’s Man Booker Prize for Fiction met together today (16 October 2007) at Hatchards Bookshop in Piccadilly, London, just hours before the winner announcement.

The shortlisted authors for this year’s £50,000 award are Nicola Barker (Darkmans), Anne Enright (The Gathering), Mohsin Hamid (The Reluctant Fundamentalist), Lloyd Jones (Mister Pip), Ian McEwan (On Chesil Beach) and Indra Sinha (Animal’s People).

They will meet again this evening at the Man Booker Prize dinner at Guildhall, London. The winner is expected to be announced just after 10:20pm (GMT) live on BBC News and on the Man Booker Prize website.
