Gaynor Arnold's Girl in a Blue Dress, longlisted for this year's Man Booker Prize, has now been published. John Berger's From A to X was also brought forward following the longlist announcement. All thirteen of the Man Booker Dozen are now available in the shops.
Tindal Street Press have a book on the Man Booker Prize longlist for the third time in six years. Last year Catherine O'Flynn's What Was Lost was on the Man Booker longlist.
In a prescient interview a few months ago for newbooks magazine, Tindal Street's Publishing Director Alan Mahar said ‘Our strike rate for literary prize listings is an amazing ten out of a total of 38 titles published since Tindal Street Press began...I'm thinking of a very accomplished Dickensian novel we have lined up for September, Girl in a Blue Dress by new writer Gaynor Arnold which has genuine prize potential.'
Following on from an article written for this website last year called 'Happy Trains from Birmingham', Alan has written the second instalment chronicling Tindal Street's journey. 'A Tale of Two Cities' is the latest addition to the Perspective section.
