Shortlisted authors confirm appearance at Southbank Centre

Full house for event on eve of winner announcement

All six shortlisted authors for the Man Booker Prize 2008 have confirmed that they will be appearing at a special event at the Southbank Centre on the eve of the announcement of this year's winner.

The six authors on the shortlist are Aravind Adiga, Sebastian Barry, Amitav Ghosh, Linda Grant, Philip Hensher and Steve Toltz.   

The Southbank Centre is hosting the special evening of readings and discussion with the 2008 shortlisted authors at the Purcell Room, Queen Elizabeth Hall on Monday 13 October at 7.45pm.

Tickets for the event went on sale last week and are selling fast but are still available at http://www.southbankcentre.co.uk/. The event will consist of readings from the six shortlisted authors, debate and an audience Q&A chaired by Ion Trewin, Literary Director of the Man Booker Prizes.

All the books on the shortlist will be on sale at the event and each of the authors will be signing copies of their work following the readings.
