
2008 Shortlisted authors read at Southbank event
Contenders read on eve of winner announcement

The six shortlisted authors for the Man Booker Prize 2008 met last night (13 October 2008) at a special event at the Southbank Centre on the eve of the announcement of this year's winner.
The six authors on the shortlist are Aravind Adiga, Sebastian Barry, Amitav Ghosh, Linda Grant, Philip Hensher and Steve Toltz.
The Southbank Centre hosted the special evening of readings and discussion with the 2008 shortlisted authors at the Purcell Room, Queen Elizabeth Hall.
Ion Trewin, Literary Director of the Man Booker Prizes, chaired the event which consisted of readings from the six authors, debate and an audience Q&A.
