Hatchards hosts photocall with 2008 shortlisted authors

The Man Booker Prize 2008 shortlisted authors met today (14 October 2008) at Hatchards bookshop in Piccadilly, London for the annual book signing on the day of the winner announcement.
All six shortlisted authors - Aravind Adiga, Sebastian Barry, Amitav Ghosh, Linda Grant, Philip Hensher and Steve Toltz - attended the book signing and press photocall.
The novelists, who will find out tonight whether they have won the coveted prize, got their first taste of the media frenzy surrounding the prize. Over thirty photographers representing media from all over the world attended the photocall.
The winner will be announced tonight (14 October 2008) at an awards ceremony at Guildhall. The announcement will be made shortly after 10.30pm and will be live on BBC Ten o'clock News.
