A podcast interview with Jane Smiley, Chair of the Man Booker International Prize 2009, is now available on the Abbeville Press website.

Jane Smiley is the author of eleven novels, including the Pulitzer Prize-winning A Thousand Acres (1992), as well as several collections of essays and short fiction.

Abbeville Press interviewed her at the New York Public Library, following the announcement of the contenders for the Man Booker International Prize 2009.

The prestigious prize recognises outstanding achievement in fiction by a living author whose works are originally published in, or widely translated into, English.
