Possession is latest release from Oak Tree Fine Press

7 June 2010

A.S. Byatt is to be published in the First Chapter Series by Oak Tree Fine Press. Oak Tree Fine Press was established on the initiative of Nobel Laureate and double Booker Prize winning J.M. Coetzee to help care for the many thousands of children made vulnerable by HIV and AIDS.

A.S. Byatt's 1990 Booker Prize-winner Possession is the latest release in the highly successful First Chapter Series. Other award-winning authors to be published by the press includes J.M. Coetzee, Margaret Atwood and Alan Hollinghurst.

Possession is a novel universally acclaimed by critics and adored by readers. A.S. Byatt's blend of beautiful prose and highly imaginative poetry, written in the style of the 19th century poets she created for the novel, weaves a compelling and unforgettable tale.

In this edition Byatt's exceptional work has been paired with a stunning image, created by British artist David Royle, inspired by the book and presented in a unique way that will be a first for the press. This is a limited edition of 150 copies of the opening chapters in a beautifully hand bound volume.
