Howard Jacobson, winner of the Man Booker Prize 2010, will open the inaugural Soho Literary Festival in London this September.

The first Soho Literary Festival will start at 7.30pm on Friday 23rd September 2011 and will run until 10.30pm on Sunday 25th September 2011.

A N Wilson and Paul Bailey will also present a tribute to the late, much-loved Beryl Bainbridge, the Booker Bridesmaid.

The programme will cover a wide spectrum of literature and the arts as well as writing workshops and cabaret evenings.

There will be 40 events at the festival, all taking place at The Soho Theatre at 21 Dean Street, which has three performance spaces. 

Other writers set to appear include Michael Morpurgo, Philip Kerr, P D James and Ruth Rendell, Kate Summerscale, Gyles Brandreth, James Delingpole, Alexander Waugh, Craig Brown (with Simon Russell Beale and Eleanor Bron), Virginia Nicholson and Carmen Callil, Judith Kerr, Anne Sebba, Richard Ingrams and more.
