Get involved with the Man Booker Prize with online resources for librarians

The Man Booker Prize offers libraries a range of opportunities to get involved with the prize.

Branded display material

All UK public library authorities have been sent a free package of branded display material, this includes Wallcharts and A3 landscape posters that can also be used as dumpbin headers. Sufficient materials have been supplied to create a Man Booker Prize display in at least a third of all service points.

Downloadable resources

A range of downloadable Man Booker Prize resources can all be downloaded from the link below. These include:

Readers Guides will shortly be available for the six shortlisted titles that provide readers with background to the author and their writing and ideas for ways to approach the text. The Readers Guides will also provide readers groups with a range of starting points for discussion.

Reading Group Partners

Six library-based reading groups were recruited to be 2007 prize partners. The six reading groups were:

Kingsbridge Library, Devon
Kidsgrove Library, Staffordshire
Bath Library, Bath and North East Somerset
Altofts Library Readers Group, Wakefield
Pimlico Library, Westminster
Cardiff Library, Cardiff

The six groups read and reviewed the shortlist and contributed to the 'Debate' discussion forum on the Man Booker Prize website to share their experience of being a prize partner and their views on the judges' book choices.
