Synopsis
Michael Moran is an old Irish Republican whose life was forever transformed by his days of glory as a guerrilla leader in the Irish War of Independence. Author Biography
John McGahern was born in Dublin 12 November 1934. He was the author of five novels and four collections of short stories. His novel Amongst Women won the GPA Book Award and the Irish Times Award and was shortlisted for the Booker Prize. It was also made into a four-part BBC television series. He had been a visiting professor at Colgate University and the University of Victoria, British Columbia. He died in Dublin in March 2006.
