Author Biography
D M Thomas was born in Redruth, Cornwall, in 1935. For many years he was a teacher and lecturer, while writing and publishing poetry. In 1979 he became a full-time writer. He has published seven collections of verse, including The Puberty Tree; thirteen novels, including The White Hotel which was shortlisted for the Booker Prize.
