Author Biography
Clare Morrall was born in Exeter in July 1952. She left Devon in her late teens to study music in Birmingham, where she has worked as a music teacher ever since. She has two adult children. Clare has written all her life and though Astonishing Splashes of Colour is the fifth novel she has written, it was the first to have been published and was shortlisted for the 2003 Man Booker Prize for Fiction. In 2006 she was published for the second time with her novel Natural Flights of the Human Mind.
