Synopsis

At forty, Georgie Jutland finds herself stranded in White Point, a fictional fishing community north of Perth, western Australia, with a fisherman she doesn’t love and two kids whose dead mother she can never replace. One morning a dangerous new element enters her life - Luther Fox, the local sea-poacher, jinx and outcast.

Author Biography

Tim Winton is the author of numerous books, including novels, a collection of stories, non-fiction and books for children. His novel, Cloudstreet, won the Banjo Award and the Miles Franklin Award in Australia. The theatrical adaptation of Cloudstreet has been a major international success. Tim Winton’s novel, The Riders, was shortlisted for the 1995 Booker Prize as was Dirt Music (which was awarded The Miles Franklin Award in Australia) in 2002. Tim Winton was born in Perth, Western Australia in 1960 and still lives there.
