Michael Redhill
Although Michael Redhill was born in Maryland, he was raised and educated in Canada. As well as fiction he writes poetry and plays, and has published several novels under the name Inger Ash Wolfe.
Redhill has won Canada’s premier literary award, the Giller Prize (2017). It came in the nick of time: before the infusion of the CA$100,000 prize money he apparently had just CA$411.46 left in his bank account. Redhill adopted the pseudonym of Inger Ash Wolfe when he started writing detective fiction (Susan Sarandon starred in the 2014 film adaptation of The Calling). Reviewers were intrigued as to the true identity of the author, with various names - including Margaret Atwood - being bandied about.
